After playing all over the country for 20 plus years and tuning for himself Nicky Ford started tuning for others as a business in 1990.
While in Los Angeles A1 established a well known reputation for quality and service, which attracted business from Beverly Hills hotels and some of Hollywood's elite including: playwright, Dick De Benedictis; Los Angeles Writers Guild, the Canyon Club, actor Barry Williams (Greg Brady, Brady Bunch), Adrian Zmed (Grease and T.J. Hooker); Richard Pryor's daughter comedienne Rain Pryor, original drummer for L.A. Guns Rob Gardner, wrestler and reality t.v. star the late Joanie Laurer aka; "Chyna Doll", also live shows for the late B.B. King, the late Lou Rawls, the late Frank Sinatra Jr., the 5th Dimension, Melissa Manchester, Mary Chapin Carpenter at the Canyon club in Agoura Hills, Ca, to name a few. Grammy Award winning songwriter Brian McKnight was a client from 1995 to 2007, until A1 relocated to Atlanta.
In 2007 A1 Piano Tuning relocated from Los Angeles to the Atlanta Metropolitan area (Hollywood South).
